Why Muskingum County?
Located at the intersection of logistics and lifestyle, Muskingum County offers a low-cost, high-impact environment for business. We provide the tools and talent; our professionals provide the results. Hear from the leaders who are thriving in the heart of our region.
I think the work ethic in this area is exceptional. We’ve been really lucky to attract a wide variety of skill sets that have fit in very well with the culture that we have at the facility.
Our company is the largest bakery in the world, so we bring the entire globe to Muskingum County. We constantly have people from all around the world traveling in and visiting our facility. We do all of this in Muskingum County.
The opportunity logistically to be within 60% of the United States population within one day’s truck drive allows for a lot of things manufactured here and a lot of goods and services to be produced and delivered here.
It is a lower-cost living environment….and working here, we’ve got blue-collar workers and white-collar workers. It’s that slower pace, but don’t sleep on Zanesville or Muskingum County. There are robust business parks… and a handful of Fortune 500 companies.
There is such a sense of community here, but there are also great professional opportunities that just keep coming. Every time I see something in the news that the Port Authority…announces a new business or development, I’m so excited. We need people moving into our community who are excited to keep the investment and growth going.
Being in Muskingum County is extremely advantageous for us because we’re close to a number of large cities. We’re able to attract…talent and workers from the Columbus, OH area with better rent and cost of living expenses than just a few counties from Muskingum County.
The John McIntyre Library remodel is really one of the best examples of the spirit of collaboration and community in Muskingum County. We are completing a $10 million project and 40% was funded locally by the community, through big and small donations.
I’m really excited to see the housing development project that we have. We’re starting to see a lot of traction in gaining both employment opportunities and business relocations to the area.
