Port Authority Staff

The Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority (ZMCPA) was established in 1987 to oversee the economic development activities of Zanesville and Muskingum County. ZMCPA is equally supported financially by the City of Zanesville and Muskingum County for general operating expenses; other funding comes in the form of JEDD revenue, regional/state/federal grants, property sales, farm leases, and rail leases. 

Eric Reed

Executive Director

Eric Reed serves as the Executive Director for the Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority (ZMCPA).  He is a graduate of Tri-Valley High School and The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and Applied Economics. In 2018, he graduated from Ohio Farm Bureau’s AgriPower Leadership Institute. During his time as Muskingum County Administrator, he was involved in capital project management, infrastructure expansion, and grant administration. Eric is a member of the Muskingum County Workforce Development Board, the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Board, the Muskingum County Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Ohio Economic Development Alliance (OEDA), and the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance (EODA), and is an active volunteer who has served on many local boards and committees.

Eric and his wife, Lauren, reside in Zanesville and have four young children, Avery, Griffin, Boden, and Grady.

Amy Young

Business Development Specialist

Amy Young serves as the Business Development Specialist for the Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority (ZMCPA). Prior to joining the ZMCPA, she worked for State Farm and in the tax industry. She is a graduate of Coshocton High School, attended Baldwin Wallace College and the University of Alaska. In 2019, she earned a Grant Writing Certification through Cleveland State University. Amy served on the Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board, Muskingum County Social Justice Coalition Executive Committee, Friends of Secrest Programming Committee, Ohio Economic Development Association Young Professionals Planning Committee, the Zanesville City Schools Planning Committee and as a volunteer at Christ’s Table.

Amy and her husband Craig reside in Zanesville, and have two adult children, Fletcher (Hannah) and Katie (Kade), and a granddaughter (Hallie).
